#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Arctic peoples’ musical works will be included in the repertoire of the Far East youth orchestra of russian folk instruments. This was announced by the head of the Music track of the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts (ASIKA) development program Arctic Cultural Code: Creative School of the Future, associate professor of the university’s Musical Arts Department Nikolay Pikutsky.
“We pay great attention to replenishing and introducing a new repertoire for folk orchestras. We plan to create national Yakut works, as well as works of the Arctic peoples”, he noted.
The Far Eastern youth orchestra was created at ASIKA as part of the Priority-2030 program. It includes students and young teachers of universities, secondary specialized educational institutions of culture and art of the Far East federal district. According to Nikolay Pikutsky, the creation of the orchestra has improved the quality of education, TASS reported.
“The majority of the team – 70 percent – are members of the ASIKA orchestra, 30 percent were selected from Krasnoyarsk and Primorsky regions, Sahalin and Kamchatka. Participation in the team motivates the children. The fact that they come together from different teams, from different universities and colleges increases their competitiveness, they are exchanging energy, working with professionals. Thanks to the fact that we have increased the composition of the orchestra and enriched its instrumentation, it has become possible to use complex material, programs and scores, which raise the team’s level”, added Nikolay Pikutsky.
