#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Two Norilsk organizations were included in the top 15 best industrial tourism enterprises according to the Tourbusiness magazine.
For the first three months of 2023, the selection included a training ground based on the Anhydrite mine of the Kayerkansky mine and the Norilsk Nickel Corporate University, and the Norilsk Dairy factory entered the top for the second quarter.
Tourism industry specialists noted that the training ground trains professional personnel for complex mining operations at the Norilsk Nickel facilities.
“The Downhole Shift excursion will allow you to visit the only underground training ground in Russia, immerse yourself in the underground world of harsh conditions hidden from human eyes, plunge into the atmosphere of a complex and dangerous profession of a miner”, the report says.
The Norilsk Dairy factory is one of the northernmost dairies in Russia. Here, milk, yogurt, kefir and ice cream are produced from milk powder.
“In production, they comply with the high standards laid down in the 1980s. Tourists will learn the history of the unique plant construction on permafrost, the joint work of Finnish and Soviet specialists”, the Tourbusiness magazine experts say.
The Norilsk Development Agency (NDA) emphasized that both enterprises are participants in the All-Russian accelerator Open Industry, organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) together with the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and with the Ministry of Industry and Trade support.
The participant application in the accelerator, prepared by NDA together with the Krasnoyarsk Tourism Agency, entered the top five. Nine enterprises took part from Krasnoyarsk region, eight of them from Norilsk. According to the accelerator results, the Krasnoyarsk region team earned six awards.
“All enterprises that have developed high-quality tourism products in such a short period of time deserve to be included in the top of the magazine, respected in the tourism industry.
Of course, it is nice that Norilsk has become famous for its tourist products all over Russia, but first of all, we are aimed at ensuring that the Norilsk people themselves begin to learn more about the place they live in and be proud of it”, says Anastasia Korol, the NDA deputy director for tourism development.
Earlier, the first tourist exhibition in Norilsk In the Center of Taimyr gathered 30 thousand guests, experts called Norilsk industrial tourism routes unique. This is Taimyr also reported that the longest tourist staircase in Russia will be built on mount Schmidt.
