#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Next year, Krasnoyarsk will host the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples for the first time with the participation of representatives from Africa and Latin America.
This was announced at the session Dialogue of Cultures of Indigenous Peoples of Russia and China of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) by Vladimir Homenko, the Krasnoyarsk region North Indigenous Peoples Association’s representative.
“In August 2024, the World’s Indigenous Peoples International Day will be held in Krasnoyarsk for the first time in Siberia. In addition to the indigenous peoples of Russia, representatives of the indigenous peoples of Africa and Latin America were invited. We also invited representatives of peoples from the BRICS countries”, TASS quotes the speaker.
According to Homenko, the event will be organized in a festival format. It will be possible to exchange experiences with representatives of indigenous peoples of other countries. In addition, master classes and round tables will be held as part of the festival. An exhibition of achievements in the field of energy production, technology, as well as a forum are planned.
Last summer, the Moscow Museum of Nomadic Culture worked in Hatanga for two weeks: specialists studied the folklore, customs and culture of the peoples living in Taimyr.
