February 20, 2024

The Ministry of Environment plans to attract more than eight thousand people.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In 2024, the Krasnoyarsk region plans to clear more than 800 kilometers of coastlines from garbage – the region’s Ministry of Ecology announced the start of accepting applications for participation in the municipal campaigns. The agency plans to attract more than eight thousand people.

“The first actions to clean the banks of water bodies will begin in April in the southern regions of the territory. As the snow melts, other residents of the territories will join in the general cleaning”, the Ecology Ministry said.

In 2023, Krasnoyarsk volunteers cleaned over 1,5 thousand kilometers of coastline and removed more than 6,3 thousand cubic meters of garbage. 232 reservoirs were put in order.

Let us recall that under the Clean Norilsk program, 2,6 million square meters of land were cleared in the Arctic.
