#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Norilsk Nickel has repeatedly announced its readiness to finance the renovation program in Norilsk, which is estimated at 84.9 billion rubles, by 50 percent, that is, to allocate 42 billion for this purpose. This was announced by Andrey Grachev, vice president of the company for federal and regional programs.
At the same time, he noted that, regardless of the approval of the program, the company will allocate a billion for design and estimate documentation in 2021.
“A decision has been made to allocate one billion for design and estimate documentation before the issue of official approval of the renovation program is resolved. We should start doing this next year”, TASS quotes the Nornickel’s vice-president.
As a reminder, during the visiting meeting of the Federation Council Committee, Andrey Grachev emphasized that no other mono-company came forward with an initiative to finance half of all renovation costs.
As a result of the same meeting in Krasnoyarsk, the opinion was expressed that Nornickel is ready to take half of the costs if the project is supported by the Federation and the Krasnoyarsk region. The company recalled that according to forecasts, 30 percent of the housing stock in Norilsk will soon become unusable, therefore, solving the problem requires not only the help of the region, but also a clear understanding of how the regional budget is formed and what its tax revenues are. By the way, the decision on federal financing of the renovation should have been made in the middle of the year.
According to experts, 260 Norilsk houses may become unusable in the coming years. In total, in Norilsk, including remote Snezhnogorsk, there are 862 residential buildings, half of which have deformations.
