The fish listed in the Red Book was released in the area of Dudinka and Yeniseisk. According to ichthyologists, those are the most favorable places for the adaptation of fry. The work was carried out jointly with the Yenisey branch of the Glavrybvoda. At the same time, RN-Vankor noted that this is not the company’s first experience of stocking fish in Siberian reservoirs – valuable species of fish from the whitefish family have already been produced.
We add that in recent years the number of Siberian sturgeon in the Yenisey has been decreasing due to anthropogenic impact on the environment, irrational fishing and poaching.
As the This Is Taimyr previously wrote, Nornickel released more than 136 thousand grayling fry and 70 thousand sturgeon fry into the Yenisey. In addition, they want to build a new hatchery in Taimyr.
