Stanislav and Larisa Stryuchkov, the PR group of the Taimyr Reserves, have been working at the eastern end of Lake Sobachye for several weeks to share their observations.
“This is one of the oldest cordons of the Taimyr reservation system. It is based on a nature reserve farm created in the 80s, consisting of a main house, a summer kitchen, a bathhouse with a wood shed, a generator garage, a snowmobile garage with a workshop and a temporary pier”, says Stanislav Struchkov. “For several decades, all these facilities were built and reconstructed to ensure the year-round work of the Putoransky reserve staff on the territory.
In those days, there was no plans about the tourism development. But in 2013, when there was a unification of the three reserves – the Putoransky, the Taimyrsky and the Big Arctic – into a single direction, it was decided to expand the cordon for comfortable accommodation of guests. The construction of guest houses and the necessary infrastructure began, a high-level guest complex appeared on the cordon as a result.
The guest complex consists of five heated houses with attics and kitchens, toilets, verandas and a shared kitchen. All objects are connected by wooden sidewalks so that the impact on the nature of the recreation area is minimal. This small tourist village can work both in winter and summer. Guests have visited it more than once and appreciated the quality of the updated cordon.
“We do not stop and continue to expand our capabilities. For example, in the near future the Joint Directorate plans to lay several ecological trails – comfortable routes to the nearest waterfalls and other natural sites”, continues Stanislav Stryuchkov. “To explore these paths and give them an assessment is one of our tasks. To do this, we test them. In addition, we conduct the nature observations and ensure the operability of the entire complex as a whole”.
The reserve base on the lake was expanded five years ago. The initiative of the Taimyr Reserves received grant support from the Nornickel company.
Recall that the promotion of tourism in Taimyr is now one of the important areas of the territory development. In October last year, an agreement on the development of the Arctic cluster was signed in Norilsk. To create its infrastructure, 5.2 billion rubles are needed.
