Сapital’s young actor theater tour took place in Norilsk

October 06, 2021

The musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was a present for Norilsk citizens from the Nornickel company.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Children’s Musical Theater of a Young Actor (CMTYA), which has been touring a lot around the country and the world, flew to Norilsk with one of its most successful and beloved by spectators and performers.

The head of the theater Alexander Fedorov at a creative meeting with the Norilsk people said that he staged The Adventures of Tom Sawyer when his theater turned 17, in 2005.

The main role in the tour performance was played by Danila Yagovdik, an actor with four years of experience in the theater. His friend Huckleberry Finn was Timofey Sokolov.

Artistic, with good voices, flawlessly moving, they can easily replace each other on stage.

The guys are finishing school this year and intend to enter theatrical institutes. Students with a background in the theater of a young actor are often called ‘fedorovs’ and after graduation are willingly taken to theaters. The founder of CMTYA, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, and since this year also Honored Art Worker, professor of VGIK and RATI Alexander Fedorov says that this is not the goal of his theater, but a fact.

For Fedorov himself, it is important that the work of his young actors is seen by as many spectators as possible, and the guys themselves feel what Russia is like:

“All the artists participating in the production has come to Norilsk. This is an experience and great happiness for them”.

The charming performer of the Becky Thatcher role, Vladislava Hmelinina, has been in this role for only a year. She also dreams of becoming a professional actress, and this was her first tour with Tom Sawyer.

Children who had been on a city tour and at the Museum of Norilsk told that they were interested in the history of the place. And Timofey Sokolov, aka Huckleberry Finn, really liked the building of our theater and the play Dragon.

On the arrival day, the laureate of two awards (in the field of culture from the government of the Russian Federation and in the field of literature and art from the city of Moscow), Honored Artist of the Russian Federation and Honored Worker of Arts held a five-hour master class on stage speech and stage movement. The Norilsk College of Arts students called the master class a real gift.

On October 5, the theater continued its tour in the Murmansk region. Young actors played the musical Leader of the Redskins in Monchegorsk, Pechenga and Zapolyarny,.

“Nornickel pays great attention to supporting socially significant projects so that life in the regions of its presence is rich and vibrant”, said Mikhail Demyanov, director of the Nornickel Polar Division’s Public Relations Department. “Every year the company invests serious funds in this area: it supports culture and sports, builds sports facilities, and participates in organizing events”.

Earlier, we reported that Nornickel shared its experience in creating and developing new cities.
