227 centenarians from 100 years and older live in Krasnoyarsk region

The elderly make up 20.5 percent of the total population of the region.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. At the beginning of the year, 800 thousand residents aged 60 and over were registered in the Krasnoyarsk region. There were 1 806 women per 1 000 men in this age category. And at the age of 80 and older, the ratio is even more impressive – 3 239 women per thousand men. This is reported by Krasnoyarskstat.

227 residents of the region are over 100 years old. The elderly make up 20.5 percent of the total population of the region. Among urban residents, representatives of the older generation make 19.5 percent, among rural residents – 24 percent.

Many continue to work actively. The employment rate of residents of the region aged 60–69 is 23.3 percent, over 70, it is 3.1 percent.

“In 2020, 554 men and 349 women over the age of 60 in the region got married, of which 67 men and 30 women were not previously married”, said Krasnoyarskstat.
