#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In 2024, Siberian customs have processed the import of 5.5 million of various flowers – supply volumes have doubled over the year.
The total weight of imported plants is more than 360 tons. The deliveries peak occurred in February – more than 240 tons, the Siberian Customs Administration’s press service reports.
It’s interesting that more than half of all flowers – 65 percent (242.5 tons) – are roses. The top three most popular items are also tulips – 57 tons and chrysanthemums – 23 tons. Lilies and orchids are not in such demand among residents of the Siberia regions – much less of them were imported.
Most often, flowers this year are brought to the Siberian Federal District from Ecuador, Kenya, Colombia, the Netherlands and Uzbekistan.
