#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. After a three-year break, members of the Norilsk snowmobile club Snegotrep resumed a good tradition – celebrating the New Year. This time, the wonderful weather allowed a record number of participants (according to the results of previous years) to comfortably attend the celebration.
Animators involved children and adults in various competitions and numerous activities. For children, the greatest joy was meeting Father Frost and Snow Maiden. Many saw them as truly magical characters, recited poems to them and received gifts.
One of the holiday organizers, a member of the snowmobile club Nelly Chernichko said that the area near the bridge over the Norilskaya river was not chosen for the celebration by chance.
“We always take care of our guests who do not have special equipment, we meet them at the bus stop and comfortably bring them to the event site on snowmobiles, and also take them back, so that no one freezes or gets lost”, she noted.
The well-known New Year’s flash mob, when car owners build a figure of a Christmas tree from their cars, was held in a special way in Norilsk – snowmobilers and snowbike owners depicted a larch from their equipment. More than 50 units of equipment lined up in a festive composition.
At the end of the event, there was a mass ride towards lake Lama, more than 50 snowmobiles and snowbikes moved like a big snake, and when they returned, they gave everyone a ride and arranged fireworks.
“To all snowmobilers, active tourists, ATV riders, watercrafters and just residents of the Big Norilsk who love active leisure, I wish good roads, fewer snowstorms in the new year 2025, and most importantly – to always return home from travels and hikes. Also good radio communications and reliable friends”, emphasized Marina Feh, a member of the Norilsk snowmobile club Snegotrep and the ideological inspirer of the event.
