#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Most of the events take place online, allowing everyone to become a hero and participant in the holiday staying at home.
As part of the gastronomic festival, the regions shared their recipes for local dishes online – the participants of the Silver Necklace of Russia project. Any resident of Russia can learn special recipes for the gastrofest on air and join the national culture. This is reported by the Ministry of Information Policy of the Murmansk region.
The most interesting videos from different parts of central Russia and the North-West are collected on the event website in a special section Online Gastro Festival.
Murmansk at the festival surprises with a variety of seafood dishes. The Pskov region was presented with recipes for Pushkin pancakes, Pskov okroshka and pie with Pskov pike perch. Vologda prepared a master class on Vepsian national cuisine. The Arhangelsk region presented an unusual soup with kelp, and the cooks of the Leningrad region teach how to properly fry smelt. Karelia has present a branded Karelian pastry – kosovik, and the Komi Republic – shangi made from rye dough with cereals, potatoes, cottage cheese and berries. Kaliningrad residents are taught how to cook the right creamy forshmak from herring fillets and frozen mackerel slices.
In Norilsk, a gastronomic festival has been held every summer since 2018. This year the event was dedicated to Scandinavian cuisine: the Norilsk people tasted smörrebred and tyunbredrulle in the fresh air, and also learned how to cook fish in the northern way. Last year, the townspeople themselves prepared a salad with smoked smelt.
You can learn about traditional northern dishes together with This Is Taimyr site in the Taste of the North section.
