#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In the Taimyr College, the Narta’s Trail exhibition is being held, which presents ethnographic objects of the indigenous peoples of the peninsula.
“The items were collected either on expeditions or donated by the owners. Since the House of Folk Art is not a museum, all funds are working, that is, we actively use them in various events and exhibitions. The site for the exposition was not chosen by chance: future craftsmen are studying in our college, and a clear example of the folk art culture of the small peoples of Taimyr is necessary during training”, director of Taimyr House of Folk Art Lyubov Popova told the This Is Taimyr correspondent.
According to her, some of the exhibits have been restored. For example, modern artisans have assembled a men’s belt from old metal parts.
“Basically, all things are authentic, but there are also those that we considered possible to restore with the help of the details stored in the fund”, the interlocutor explained.
The Narta’s Trail exhibition will run until mid-December.
Earlier, This Is Taimyr told about the unique exhibition and sale of the North souvenir collection, created by the New York designers of the Occhii company together with students and graduates of the Norilsk College of Arts.
