#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In Norilsk, a special northern modification of LiAZs for cold climate regions was operated. It was distinguished by thermal insulation of the body, windows with double glass, and an additional heater in the cabin.
The manufacturer – Likinsk bus plant – declared a temperature scale from –60 to +40 degrees. First of all, this brand was used for transportation to Talnah and for the Nadezhda metallurgical plant under construction.
Those buses are still remembered by many. They were especially loved by children, who had their own “trump” places: in front, next to the driver, and on the back platform, in the spare wheel compartment.
The last bus was made into a cabriolet and used in summer during the Norilsk carnival.
LiAZ-677 served the Norilsk passengers for many years. The last one was scrapped in 2011.
In the History Spot’s previous publication, we told about photaria in Norilsk – the forerunners of solariums.
