“Whenever anyone mentions Siberia, you automatically recall extreme cold, and extremely remote. I’m fascinated with extremes and amazing one-of-a-kind places so I would like to capture images of some of the beautiful landscapes in Siberia, and stories of the people who consider this land home. I also wanted to get a tattoo while I’m there, because not many people can say they got a tattoo in Siberia. I did not manage, unfortunately. But it means I could come to Taimyr another time.
Canada and Siberia are alike as they have similar climate. So I can say I felt like home there. Moreover, I learned Russian at the university, it was popular when I was young. I still remember some words.
By the way, I was happy to be invited to the Krasnoyarsk Universiade. Great experience, definitely. Hope to meet all those people I got aquainted in Siberia again”.
