#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Ust-Avam is one of the Taimyr settlements inhabited by indigenous peoples, including the Nganasans and Dolgans. A youth project called Be Better has been launched at the local library.
Young activists will have the chance to get involved in volunteer activities and demonstrate their civic engagement. Evgenia Turdagina, the library head, will lead a training program on the Basics of Organizing Volunteer Activities, introducing participants to theoretical methods during seminars. Volunteers will also conduct workshops on decorative and applied arts for elderly residents, as reported on the official Dudinka website.
The Be Better project, developed by library system specialists, was one of the winners of the district’s social projects competition Good Deeds in the Helping Is Simple category.
Earlier, This Is Taimyr reported that construction of housing and infrastructure is ongoing in Ust-Avam as part of the socio-economic development program for Taimyr by the Nornickel company.
