#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Nornickel is implementing a major five-year program for the social and economic development of Taimyr. The company will allocate about 300 million rubles this year for the construction of housing and social facilities.
In the settlements of Ust-Avam and Volochanka, it is planned to build seven residential buildings – three in Ust-Avam and four in Volochanka. Here, as well as in the village of Ust-Port, feldsher-obstetric stations (FOS) will also be built.
Prefabricated medical stations are built from modern materials, sandwich panels, which have already proven themselves in the Hatanga region of Taimyr, in Volochanka and Ust-Avam.
In terms of area, the feldsher-obstetric station occupies 108 square meters, with a separate room for a doctor’s appointment and an apartment for the personnel.
Placing under one roof a reception center and housing for a doctor also solved the problem of providing housing for medical staff, which is why there have always been difficulties in attracting medical specialists to the villages.
In the Nosok village, a large-scale construction of a rural House of Culture is also planned this year. Now the shipment of the prefabricated houses sets for Ust-Avam is underway, in March the sets will be shipped to Volochanka, and construction will begin there in May.
“We have developed partnership and friendly relations with Nornickel. Both the Polar Division and the Polar Transportation Division in Dudinka are socially responsible enterprises that always fulfill all obligations”, said Evgeny Vershinin, head of Taimyr.
