#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Russian delegation showed impressive results. Our teams took all three prizes among the countries participating in the competition.
The Russian delegation included four teams consisting of participants of the IMAKE Inventors League, a Nornickel-life and Nornikel’s World of New Opportunities charity programme’s project.
On the first day, a relay race was held: the participants assembled three different models from the same set of parts. The participants had to not only make the product, but also come up with its concept and visual design.
It was forbidden to use power tools during the competition – the teams had to master a hand jigsaw and a mechanical drill.
The victory went to the IMAKE team from Monchegorsk Round Cubes (Veronika Zhikhareva, Roman Loskutov, Timur Shirokov). Second place went to the IMAKE Nord team from Norilsk (Stepan Voitenko, Nikolay Nevzorov, Spartak Tagirov). Third place went to the team from Novocherkassk (Alexey Lashchikov, Arseniy Tyshlangov, Dmitry Nabiulin).
On the second day of the competition, participants assembled an IoT (Internet of Things) model, which requires not only engineering skills but also programming knowledge.
Russians were again in the top three:
Round Cubes from Monchegorsk – first place;
Siberian bears from Novosibirsk – second place;
Nord from Norilsk – third place.
Also the Frost team from Norilsk became the fourth, having shown an excellent result of passing the course, despite the fact that two out of three participants of this team were participating in the Taiwanese competition for the first time.
We would like to remind you that the school inventors’ competition has been organised since 1999. This is not the first time IMAKE participants have gone to the competition. Last year, the makers took second place in the team competition (Team North from Norilsk), and in the individual competitions the guys from Monchegorsk and Norilsk won for the best moving models.
We would like to add that the Russian delegation was supported in organising the trip and preparing for the world championship by the Nornickel company and the law firm Gorodissky & Partners.
