June 07, 2021

Now we are waiting for the ice drift in Norilskaya river.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Dudinka and Norilsk residents are always looking forward to ice drift, because it is not only a spectacular sight, but a harbinger of a coming summer.

This year, in the area of the Dudinka seaport, the ice drift entered its active phase on June 2. Now the ice edge is moving further to the north of Taimyr.
5-7 days after the ice drift in Dudinka it is expected on the Norilskaya river which flows into the Yenisey dividing the Big Norilsk into two parts. It was the earliest on record last year.

As for the weather, the hydrometeorological center predicts rain in Norilsk for the next week. It will be cool – from 0 to +8 degrees. Although the summer is expected to be comfortable.
