#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. For the first time, a forest orderly fell into a camera trap in the Pasvik nature reserve in the Murmansk region. On the reserve territory, the probability of meeting a wolf is very low.
Judging by the date, the wolf passed the camera in August 2022. Previously, scientists had seen wolves’ traces, but a gray one was caught on camera for the first time.
Now in the Murmansk region the number of these animals gets increased.
“We expect gray predators to migrate to our district as well. In addition, the European roe deer is well established in the Pechenga district, which also attracts predators”, the reserve specialists explained.
Recall that last year Nornickel stepped up its support for Pasvik. Within the cooperation, the company supports the reserve’s cultural and educational work, monitors the environment and wildlife state.
