#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In Norilsk, stable sub-zero temperatures this year have been established since Sunday, October 23rd. Earlier, the townspeople observed temperature swings: the snow fell and melted again. Although in previous years, freezing began already in the middle of October, and car owners changed tires for winter.
According to the Taimyr Television Company, this year in October an atypical warm cyclone dominated the Arctic. But soon it will leave the territory, and by the last weekend of October, a cold arctic front will come. Winter in Taimyr will come very quickly.
It is minus 2 degrees in Norilsk now, cloudy and light snowy. According to the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, the temperature will drop to minus 5 at night. On Tuesday, October 25, minus 4 is expected in the city, cloudy, snow is possible.
From Wednesday, October 26, and until the end of the working week at night in Norilsk, the thermometers will drop to minus 10 degrees. Minus 7 is predicted in the daytime. It is expected to snow all week. In the last weekend of October, it can get warmer by only 1-2 degrees.
And already in the first days of November in Taimyr the temperature will drop to minus 20 degrees. Heavy snowfalls will begin, squally winds are possible.
Recall that Norilsk is considered one of the windiest cities in the world. The expression ‘black blizzard’ entered the Norilsk people’s lexicon after the disaster of January 1957.
