August 25, 2020

The Nornickel president helped the Tver region fight the coronavirus.

The governor of the Tver region Igor Rudenya awarded Vladimir Potanin with the honorary badge “For Charity. Grand Duchess Anna Kashinskaya ”. During the pandemic, Nornickel purchased a set of necessary medical equipment for the Konakovskaya central regional hospital.

“The equipment that the company acquired for the Tver region will contribute to the overall work to preserve the health and life of the population of the Upper Volga region. The received equipment will initiate the creation of the high-tech medical care center in the Konakovsky district”, the official portal of the regional government quotes the governor.

It is also reported that the honorary badge “For charity. Grand Duchess Anna Kashinskaya” celebrates those who carry out charitable activities aimed at social support and protection of citizens.

Vladimir Potanin, in turn, emphasized that the company and the Tver region have long-standing relations – Nornickel is implementing a resettlement program in the region.

“Thanks to the efforts of the Tver region’s government, comfortable living conditions have been created for migrants. We highly appreciate the regional governor’s efforts, which are being made to improve the living conditions of citizens, and we hope that our cooperation will be fruitful in the future”, Vladimir Potanin said.

The Tver region is one of the main territories where Nornickel implements the corporate social program to provide employees with housing in favorable and convenient regions of the country. To date, 1 683 apartments in this microdistrict have been transferred to Nornickel employees.

In May, Nornickel delivered over 230 tons of medical and sanitary cargo to Norilsk. Two weeks ago, the company brought 39 mechanical ventilation devices to the northern city. And since the beginning of the pandemic, the regions of Nornickel’s production activity have received more than 20 billion rubles in aid.
