#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. A book with translations of songs about the Great Patriotic War in 34 languages of the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East was presented at the festive event Victory Songs in the Languages of the Peoples of Russia in St. Petersburg.
According to the press service of the Arctic Development Project Office, a field kitchen was organized for the event participants. The guests tasted soldier’s porridge with venison and hot tea with Siberian herbs.
The book contains 50 original translations of the Victory Day song text in 34 languages of indigenous peoples, including dialects and accents, as well as texts of other military songs. Experts-linguists from the country regions worked on the collection.
