#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Polar Division summed up the Clean Norilsk program first year work results and outlined the upcoming plans.

In the first three quarters of 2021, under the Clean Norilsk program, 108 unused buildings and structures were dismantled, 39 000 tons of scrap metal and more than 300 000 tons of garbage were removed, and more than a million square meters of territory were cleared.

Today, work is being carried out at several sites at once. In particular, on the territory of the Nadezhda Metallurgical plant, where the number of buildings demolished last year reached several dozen. About 350 thousand square meters of territory were cleared there. Currently, the NMP is dismantling the oxygen station No. 2. gallery current conductors.

In 2022, the main focus will be on the territory of the Taimyrsky and Octyabrsky mines. And last year, on the territory of the Kupets village, a once residential four-story panel house was dismantled, behind which there were three one-story buildings, wooden barracks, containers and garbage piles. All that was dismantled, about eight thousand tons of garbage were taken out. About 26 thousand square meters of land were freed from rubbish. Next in line is the emergency five-story brick house demolishing in the village of Alykel.

The plans for 2022 include the demolition of about 100 objects and the sanitation of up to two million square meters of territory. In ten years, Nornickel intends to completely eliminate the man-made load accumulated over many decades. For these purposes, the company allocates more than 40 billion rubles.

Earlier, we reported that the renovation of Norilsk was called one of the key events in the Arctic.
