#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. During the Umka-2021 complex Arctic expedition, three nuclear-powered missile carriers simultaneously broke through 1.5 meters of ice and surfaced in the Franz Josef Land archipelago on a site with a radius of only 300 meters. In addition, one of the submarines launched a torpedo. The video of the exercise was published by the Ministry of Defense.

Not far from the site, two MiG-31 fighters made a planned flight with refueling in the air and passing the North Pole point. Admiral Nikolay Evmenov, commander-in-chief of the Navy, reported to president Vladimir Putin about the exercises. The head of the country noted that the Umka-2021 Arctic expedition is unique, nothing of the kind has been carried out either in the USSR or in Russia.
“The high combat capabilities of domestic weapons, their reliability in operation in extreme conditions, have been confirmed”, the president said.
Such expeditions will continue to be carried out. Their task will be to develop new, unexplored areas of the Arctic. In total, 600 servicemen and 200 pieces of equipment took part in the exercises.
Earlier it became known that the infantrymen of the Northern Fleet will be taught how to manage dog and reindeer teams. And last fall, ships of the Northern Fleet’s Arctic group worked in the Kara sea to replenish fuel and water supplies from a tanker on the move.
