#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The museum and exhibition complex Norilsk Museum and the photo club Taimyr announce the start of accepting applications for the annual photo exhibition TaimyrYearPhoto 2024. Deadline is June 16.
The exhibition will open on Photographer’s Day for the eighth time. This is the key annual photography event in the north of Krasnoyarsk region, which gets the public acquainted with the local photographers’ work. Participants in the collective exhibition will be authors whose works will undergo a competitive selection.
“In a single museum exhibition space, photo series about the city and Taimyr nature, the North indigenous peoples’ life, Norilsk residents’ everyday life or other, most unexpected topics proposed by the authors, can be presented. For professional and amateur photographers, participation in the exhibition is an opportunity to show their creativity to the public”, said the organizers.
When selecting works, experts are guided by the principle of showing the best works created in the territory. The most original, strong, emotional and high-quality ones will be included in the final exhibition.
“Photo reports and series of works are accepted for consideration by the expert commission, from 4 to 12 original photographs, united by a common theme and made in any genre: city landscape, nature, people, landmarks, events. An important condition: photographs should be taken only in the Arctic – Taimyr and Norilsk – in the period 2023–2024”, the organizers emphasized.
Regulations on the competition with detailed conditions of participation are available on the Norilsk Museum’s website. Project coordinator is Ekaterina Vyshinskaya, phone +7-978-769-56-94.
Earlier, we reported that the Norilsk Museum presented three centuries of beads in Russian art.
