#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The IMAKE Engineering Marathon, hosted by Nornickel, selected 35 schoolchildren from Norilsk and five from Dudinka. Another 29 guys will come from the Murmansk region, 26 from the Trans-Baikal region.
The IMAKE engineering marathon is a large-scale project of the Nornickel’s World of New Opportunities charity program. The marathon is held among schoolchildren in the cities where Nornickel operates.
This year, the children will go to the Science Camp project school on the Japan Sea coast – in Emar Bay, 35 kilometers from Vladivostok. The main outdoor event of the engineering marathon will bring together the most active makers who have passed the competitive selection based on the results of quests, engineering intensives, and inventive competitions.
Also, all the children will take part in the Festival of City Inventors, which will be held from February 28 to March 20 at the all-Russian children’s center Ocean.
In the winter school, future inventors will continue to talk about awareness, sustainability, artificial intelligence, creative and critical thinking as part of the main theme of this year’s IMAKE season – Thinking People of the Future.
The children will attend interactive lectures, workshops, engineering workshops and meetings with interesting guests. There will also be young engineers’ Makerton, a meta-theater evening and the key event – IMAKE EXPO&AWARDS.
Last year, schoolchildren from Norilsk and Dudinka became winners in the IMAKE competition.
