#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Taimyr newspaper entered the top 10 most unusual newspapers and magazines in the world, competing with the New York Times and Life magazine. The rating was compiled and published by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Taimyr made it into the rating of the most unusual publications because it is published in six languages. For the same reason, the newspaper is included in the Russian Book of Records. The weekly publication offers materials in the languages of the indigenous peoples of the peninsula: Dolgan, Evenki, Nganasan, Enets, Nenets, and has been published since 1932. Its main goal is to preserve the traditions and culture of the Taimyr peoples.
In the rating, Taimyr competes with the thickest newspaper in the world – the New York Times of September 14, 1987. It had 1612 pages, weighed 5.4 kilograms and contained 1.2 million advertisements.
Another world-famous publication included in the rating is Life. Other amazing print media include Miniature Donkey Talk, a publication for lovers of small donkeys; Found magazine, entirely dedicated to lost things; Lemon, whose pages are scented with the smells of various citrus fruits. The rating also includes the Swedish T-Post magazine, which is printed not on paper, but on T-shirts.
Earlier, we talked about new books in the languages of the Taimyr peoples.
