Taimyr named coldest region in Russia

Meteorologists spoke about the weather in July.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The coldest regions of the country were named in the Hydrometeorological Center. In addition to Norilsk and Taimyr, the weather is not yet warm in the Murmansk region, the north of Karelia, the Nenets Autonomous District and some other northern territories.

According to the head of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia laboratory, Lyudmila Pershina, there are cold centers in Siberia and the Far East. She noted that in the Turuhansk region, the air temperature is 13-18 degrees, in Evenkia – from 18 to 23 degrees, in Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Barnaul – about 15-17 degrees, which is four degrees lower than climatic norm.

It is also cool in the south of Taimyr: in the daytime, the air temperature is plus 10-15 degrees. At the same time, in Kamchatka, as well as in the extreme north of Yakutia, during the day, it’s plus 13-18 degrees. In Chukotka – plus 17, on the coast of the Magadan region it’s only plus 12, and in the north of the Habarovsk region the temperature is no higher than plus 13. At the same time, there is snow on the islands of the Severnaya Zemlya archipelago, however, people do not live there, and there are only scientific stations.

In the Central district of Norilsk, it’s plus 17 degrees, the east wind is 4-10 meters per second, occasionally light rain is expected, told in the Taimyr Center for Hydrometeorology.

According to forecasters, it will be 11-16 degrees Celsius at weekend in Norilsk, and the wind will rise up to 20 meters per second.
