#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The specially protected natural areas in the Krasnoyarsk region in the past year have increased by more than 11 thousand hectares.
In 2020, four specially protected natural areas (SPNA) of regional significance were created, they are located in Krasnoyarsk and Kuraginsky district. The total protected area is more than 11 thousand hectares.
In addition, in 2020, the Ministry of Ecology approved the boundaries and determined the special protection regime for the territory of four natural monuments located on the territory of Norilsk and the Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets municipal district.
The Krasnye Kamni landscape area, the geological Popigai outcrop and the Motley Rocks outcrop, as well as the area of larch forest near the Sobachye lake are considered natural monuments of regional significance.
Exploration and minerals extraction, collection of zoological, mineralogical, paleontological, botanical collections for non-scientific purposes, littering the area with various wastes, making fires and other activities that violate the preservation of the natural monument are prohibited in the protected area.
In total, there are 110 protected areas of regional significance in the Krasnoyarsk region, 40 state nature reserves, as well as 67 natural monuments.
Last year, the Norilsk authorities started creating a specially protected natural area of municipal importance at the Krasnye Kamni site. The city adopted a tourism development program.
