#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The meeting was devoted to specially protected natural areas and competent human behavior in nature, in particular, natural and man-made fires and how to prevent them.
“Our territories are subject to fire much less frequently than those areas of the country where many thousands of hectares are burning today. There it happens because of dry weather and careless behavior of people, and here nature itself takes care of the fire prevention – spring floods and rainy summers protect Taimyr from fires”, said the Taimyr Reserves directorate’s press office.
At the lesson, it was discussed how important it is to foresee the consequences of one’s behavior in nature. The children watched thematic videos and received leaflets What the Forest is Silent About. Particular attention was paid to the man’s impact on the planet state and what everyone can do to improve the world around, or at least not harm.
“Human interaction with waste is an important component of eco-culture. Garbage is one of the main factors causing fires in natural areas. And our task is to remind the participants of our events about this”, said Alena Zahvatihata, the meeting host, the Taimyr Reserves directorate specialist.
Also, the Taimyr Reserves directorate is recruiting volunteers to accompany tourists on the routes. This year, scientists will conduct six complex expeditions in Taimyr.
