#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Thanks to the plastic recycling workshop that appeared in Norilsk two years ago, the eco-trail near the Gorizont suburban recreation complex is now decorated with benches and waste bins made of recycled plastic.
Ekaterina Karaseva, head of the Melt Plastic workshop, who is also the chairman of the 69 Parallel charitable foundation, explained that 20 kilograms of plastic caps were used for one bench.
“This is our first experience in making plastic benches and bins. In the future, we are going to make them only from plastic: now the frame of the bench is made of metal. We also create souvenirs, key rings, jewelry, and more. People willingly bring us plastic, about 50-60 kilograms a month. Many schools, kindergartens and organizations are joining us: they are installing plastic collection sites, for which we are grateful”, Ekaterina Karaseva shared.
