#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Siberian Federal University (SFU) scientists together with colleagues from Tunisia, India, Saudi Arabia and France, have synthesized crystals that they plan to use for creating a healing technique. It is expected that it may be effective in the treatment of Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and schizophrenia diseases.
As Planet Today writes with reference to Zeitschrift für Physikalische Chemie, the research could mark the beginning of the creation of new unique materials for biomedicine, energy and electronics.
By studying the properties of the new inorganic-organic material called (2R,5S)-2,5-dimethylpiperazine-1,4-diidinitrate (RSDPN), scientists found that it interacts with proteins in a unique way. It is expected that this will allow it to be used in the development of drugs for the treatment of severe neurological diseases. Among other things, the researchers noted the potential of the material for the treatment of schizophrenia, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.
Previously, we reported that scientists developed food supplements for the Arctic residents, and we also wrote that experts compiled a rating of news about the Krasnoyarsk scientists’ successes.
