#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Three Russian cities – Norilsk, Murmansk and Anadyr – will become territories where base ground stations will be located for the Skif satellite system of the federal project Sfera.
The program involves the launch of communications and remote sensing satellites. It will include five satellite constellations providing telecommunications services, and another five will be engaged in surveillance.
The development belongs to the Information Satellite Systems company named after academician M. F. Reshetnev, which is part of the Roscosmos state corporation. Each station will be equipped with four antenna posts.
The first Skif-D apparatus was launched into orbit in 2022 along with three Gonets-M apparatuses. The deployment of the group is planned for 2026. The full group will consist of 12 Skifs.
Previously, Norilsk was connected to new Internet speeds, the Russian national domain entered the top three world leaders, and the program for connecting villages in the Krasnoyarsk region to the Internet is planned to be completed in five years.
