Russian Arctic museums to create mobile project

June 08, 2022

One of the mobile expositions - a polar explorer's house - has already been delivered to Norilsk along the Northern Sea Route from Arhangelsk.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. 20 Russian Arctic museums create a mobile exhibition project that travels to the Russian northern museums. Thanks to the Nornickel company’s help one of these exhibitions has already been delivered to Norilsk. The exposition is The Territory of the Brave: a Year at the Polar Station created at the Northern Maritime Museum in Arhangelsk.

Yulia Kupina, the Russian Ethnographic Museum (REM) head told TASS:

“I’d like to make a mobile exhibition project that would unite regions moving from museum to museum. We are also thinking about having digital platforms available not only to the section members”.

The REM website’s page or an application can become the project’s mobile platform. Moreover, museum workers plan to present expositions at the Arctic regions’ airports.
