As cold weather is coming the clubfooted are fed with porridge with honey and pine nuts.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. In nature, bears gain 30-40 percent more weight before winter. Nowadays, the zoologists of the Krasnoyarsk fauna and flora park Royev Ruchey are helping pets get fat by increasing feed by 20-50 percent. The main diet of the clubfooted is porridge, which consists of four types of cereals and is seasoned with a large amount of condensed milk, honey, pine nuts, raisins, cottage cheese and fresh quail eggs.

For dessert, the bears enjoy fresh apples. Zoologists try to pamper their favorites, because hibernation will last until spring. From the end of autumn, the ration of animals will gradually decrease, and with the onset of cold weather, they will stop feeding at all. For the bears, this is a signal – it’s time to go to bed.

Together with bears, badgers, raccoons and raccoon dogs get ready for hibernation. Soon they will fall asleep in their warm houses, and will wake up only in spring. But marmots are rightfully considered the main sleepyheads among animals – they have been sleeping since the beginning of September, and will wake up only in May.

In the cold season, hares, foxes, camels, deer, bison, musk oxen and ibex will please visitors of the park. With the onset of cold weather, their coat thickens, lengthens, a thick undercoat appears.
