#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. As part of the Efficient Transport System national project development, the Great Northern Sea Route Development federal project is being prepared. In particular, it is planned to develop river transport corridors leading to the Arctic highway, Morskie Vesti Rossii reports.
One of the tasks that the federal project should solve is the creating of new logistics routes. To solve it, this year the state corporation Rosatom plans to launch a subsidized experimental voyage from Krasnoyarsk along the Yenisey. The river vessel will deliver containers to the port of Dudinka, where they will be transshipped to an ice-class motor ship, which will export cargo along the Northern Sea Route to countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
“If this project is successful, we will ask the government to support it”, said Rosatom state corporation’s special representative for Arctic development, deputy chairman of the State Commission for Arctic Development Vladimir Panov.
