#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Juvenile taimen that are released into the Krasnoyarsk region’s reservoirs will be marked. This was reported by the department’s Telegram channel with reference to the head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov.
Last Friday, the first release of juvenile taimen and nelma into the Yenisey took place – more than 20 thousand pieces. Ilya Shestakov, who was in the Krasnoyarsk region on a working trip, took part in the event.
“I discussed with my colleagues that in the next issue we will do markings to accurately determine whether this is a hatchery taimen or a representative of the natural population”, he said.
It is noted that the measure will be taken to assess the effectiveness of artificial reproduction of fish stocks.
Ilya Shestakov noted that the situation with fish resources in the region is generally favorable.
“It is clear that there are certain difficulties in the reproduction of taimen. But, for example, the situation with sturgeon is leveling out: science confirms that there are quite good reserves here. That is, stocking of fish, which the state is actively involved in, including business in terms of compensation measures, is bearing fruit”, he explained.
As noted, this year it is planned to release about ten million fry of different species of fish into the Krasnoyarsk region’s reservoirs.
All four species of taimen living in the world are listed in the Red Books.
