#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The project FusioNNow, launched by Nornickel in 2019, was named the best in the Territories Development and Promotion nomination at the 24th ceremony of awarding laureates of the Silver Archer National Prize in Public Relations Development.
FusioNNow is a continuation of the Follow Up Siberia competition, launched in April 2018 on the eve of the 29th World Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk. As a reminder, travel bloggers from 53 countries took part in the competition at that time. Nine finalists from Serbia, Canada, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Greece, Australia, Mexico and Germany came to the regional capital for the Universiade and shared stories about traveling to Siberian cities and meeting local residents, destroying the stereotype of Siberia as a distant and an unfriendly region.
The FusioNNow project went further, its goal was not only introducing international participants to the Russian North, but also creating sustainable collaborations, exchanging experiences and implemening joint cultural and social projects in Taimyr and in the Murmansk region.
For the winners of the creative competition, two tours were organized in the remote northern territories: they were able to communicate with representatives of indigenous peoples, visit the reserves of unique museums with ancient relics and launch their own projects. At the same time, the trip to Norilsk and Dudinka was devoted to ethnic fashion, culture and traditions of the Taimyr peoples. And the theme of the tour on the Kola Peninsula was increasing the tourist attractiveness of the North.
It is also reported that the publications of FusioNNow members received a lot of enthusiastic responses from all over the world, and the project itself was highly appreciated by the professional community.
