#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Andrey Tenitsky, the Vaigach nuclear-powered icebreaker’s captain, filmed a curious polar bear’s visit. The meeting of polar explorers and the predator took place in the north of the region, near Sibiryakov island, which is located in the Kara sea, separated from Taimyr by the Yenisey bay and administratively belongs to the Taimyr municipal district.
The video was posted on the Atomflot Telegram channel. On the footage, the clumsy inspects the ship with curiosity, stands on its hind legs and sniffs the unfamiliar, but delicious food smells.
“The bear is very attracted by the smell from the caboose. It’s the best compliment to the nuclear icebreaker’s chef from the owner of the Arctic. But feeding the animals is forbidden!” the captain jokes.
The author says that this was not the first meeting of the icebreaker with polar bears. Despite the abundance of seals in the Yenisey bay, they do not refuse feasting with the polar explorers’ lunch.
Earlier, the Russians followed the fate of two cubs from Yamal, who came to dine with the workers of the Harasaveyskoye field. We also said that artificial intelligence will monitor the population of polar bears, and scientists will find out how polar bears adapt to climate change.
