#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Taimyr Reserves directorate employees posted on their website a reminder for visitors to specially protected natural areas. Illegal fishing there is not only prohibited, but severely punished. As an example, the inspectors cited the case of a poacher who had to pay a fine.
On the Putoransky State Nature Reserve territory, in a section of the Lake Lama water area in the Pyasina River basin, one and a half kilometers from the Central transport office’s recreation center, a Norilsk resident fished without a special permit, using prohibited fishing gear – a fixed net, the protocol on the offense says .
The poacher was brought to administrative responsibility under Article 8.39 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The man paid a fine of three thousand rubles and damage in the amount of 32,722 rubles caused to aquatic biological resources. In the event of significant damage to specially protected areas, a person may face criminal liability.
“Nevertheless, our inspectors constantly encounter violators during planned raids. We carry out such trips all the time in order to identify and suppress the law violations, regardless of weather conditions”, said the Taimyr Reserves directorate employees.
Earlier, Norilsk photographer Mikhail Podolyak shared impressive pictures of the Ambarnaya river’s melting multi-colored glaciers.
We also reported that NTEC released the first batch of sturgeon fry into the Yenisey: this is how Nornickel implements the bioresources development program.
