#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Norilsk photographers Mikhail Podolyak and Sergey Dokukin shared the first spring pictures of one of the most popular holiday destinations among the townspeople – Red Stones.
“This year I wanted to shoot the gorge earlier – I had long dreamed that there would still be ice under the waterfall. They turn out to be such a white and turquoise color. They look very atmospheric and beautiful”, says Mikhail Podolyak.
“The waterfall is still quite full-flowing, and the ice has not completely melted, but there is still very little greenery. We didn’t see a bear, and it’s for the best”, says Sergey Dokukin.
Photographers were lucky: it rained for a long time, but on the shooting day, nature gave a chance to catch unique views. They walked for quite a long time through the snow in wader boots. Then they made a tea break – sat, admired the Taimyr nature. There were no people at all in the early morning, but the photographer had to clean the pictures because the inscriptions were caught on camera: “…was here”, “Graduation of such and such a year”, different teams’ fans slogans.
“I had to remove the inscriptions from the photo that vandals make on Red Stones – they spoil the rocks. Guys, let’s not spoil the unique places within walking distance from Norilsk. Every year they clean it all – it’s a colossal work”, says Mikhail Podolyak.
Previously, the photographer showed Ambarnaya River’s ice similar to the aurora, as well as images of the light ‘forest’ in Kayerkan.
