Peter Yan and Aljamein Sterling fight canceled

November 23, 2020

The born-in-Dudinka fighter was supposed to compete at the UFC 256 tournament in Las Vegas.

#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The upcoming fight was planned to be the first defense of the Russian sportsman’s championship belt, which he won in July in Abu Dhabi (UAE), having defeated Brazilian Jose Aldo.

The fight between bantamweight champion Peter Yan and American Aljamein Sterling was scheduled to take place on December 12 in Las Vegas (USA). The fight was to be the main event of the evening. However, as it became known, the meeting will not take place. The exact reason for the cancellation is not reported. Now there are two versions of what happened: a 27-year-old Russian has visa problems or he has an injury.

It is also reported that the new date of the fight is still unknown. It is possible that the rivals will meet in February at UFC 258.

We add that Peter Jan has 15 victories in MMA, seven of which were knockouts, and one defeat. Sterling has 19 wins and three losses.
