#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Norilsk Development Agency (NDA) and the city administration continue to implement the project of gradual transformation of the Ol-Gul ski base to the modern family sports and tourism center.
According to the base development concept, the mooring zone, a multifunctional sports ground, yoga-terrace, a tent town, a paintball training ground, a rope park and a rollerdrome will be equipped at Ol-Gul.
In addition, all the lodge’s paths will be replaced and tourist navigation will be installed. The organizers will make a science site and build a new tower for ice-hauling. The NDA prepared design estimates for all the objects.
According to Anastasia Korol, the NDA deputy director for the tourism development, some objects were completed in summer.
Work was financed from the city budget, the NDA funds and the regional subsidy for tourism. The Nornickel volunteers contributed to the Yoga terrace building.
“To install a yoga-terrace away from the base’s central site is a great idea”, said Yelena Gordeyeva, a yogin with a 25 years of experience. “Previously, we trained right at the Ol-Gul main building or on pedestrian tracks. It was inconvenient for us and other visitors. And now there is a place where we can focus on meditation, enjoy the nature, its energy without interfering with anyone. Here we can conduct classes for children and adults, yogin seminars and other events”.
The sports and tourist complex territory updating will be continued till summer.
Recall that in 2023 a new building will be constructed on the Ol-Gul ski base. The old one was recognized as dangerous and closed.
