#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. From April 26 to April 28, 2024, the eighth traditional international curling tournament Nornickel Curling Cup will be held at the Taimyr ice arena in Dudinka.
This year, women’s teams of four will compete. Athletes from Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia will compete for the northernmost curling tournament winner title.
Alina Kovaleva, Lyudmila Privivkova, Alina Biktimirova, Anastasia Mishchenko and other stars of world and Russian curling will come to the Arctic.
Traditionally, the competition was organized by the Russian Curling Federation with the support of Nornickel. Live broadcasts of the games will be available on the Russian Curling Federation’s YouTube channel.
On April 23–24, Taimyr will host the traditional children’s tournament Junior Nornickel Curling Cup 2024, where teams from Dudinka, Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kemerovo and Irkutsk will compete.
The opening ceremony will take place on April 27. In addition to the colorful show, the northerners will enjoy master classes – with the Olympic champion in biathlon, honored master of sports of Russia Dmitry Malyshko and with the Olympic silver medalist in individual sprint, honored master of sports of Russia Alexander Panzhinsky.
Earlier, we reported that Nornickel helped Dudinka curlers make a name for themselves at the regional championship.
