#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The Severny Gorod media company’s historical and educational project Expert’s participants gathered again in the Aika sports hall, the third stage of which was dedicated to the sports development in Norilsk, including such sports as mountaineering, tourism, skiing and much more. The project partners are the Nornickel company, Nordstar airlines, the city culture hall, the Norilsk education department and the sports hall Aika.
As in previous games, the hall was full of people ready to show their knowledge. Traditionally, these were high school students, as well as ordinary citizens who are not indifferent to the past of their city.
And again the guests were greeted by the author and host of the Time Mirror TV program Svetlana Gunina.
“I am glad to see that the number of participants is growing every time. And that is nice! After all, as I have already said before, it is impossible to love a city without knowing its history. And the TV episodes that we offer for watching help Norilsk residents to look back at the time when Norilsk stood at the origins”, she noted.
Alexey Fekh came to the project for the first time and was confident before the game.
“I decided to try my hand at knowing the city. I have been deeply interested in its history since 2016 thanks to the Taimyr explorers club, maybe today I will learn something new for myself, I hope for the luck”, he said.
Ekaterina Zinenko is participating in the Expert game for the second time and managed to climb to the podium in the very first game.
“I am participating in your project for the second time and today I came here with the Youth Center team”, said the winner of the first stage. “Every time I prepare for the game, I discover something new, for example, I didn’t know that mountaineering and tourism were not so developed before, and it’s nice that now everything has changed and our fellow countrymen take prize places in these areas”.
Traditionally, Expert was held under the judges’ watchful eye. The jury included teachers and employees of educational institutions of the city. At the end of the game, they counted the points and determined the finalists.
As a result, the third place, having scored 25 points, was taken by the team of grammar school No. 5 named Bees; the second place – by the Magnificent Four and the Goalkeeper team from the Norilsk Youth Center, the participants scored 28 points; and the leader with a total of 29 points was the team of Norilsk residents On Skis. All winners received certificates to the bookstore Chitai-Gorod in the amount of 1000, 2000 and 3000 rubles for the third, second and first place, respectively.
Ivan Soroka, a member of the winning team, was very happy to win.
“This is my second time participating in Expert. First I was alone, and now with a team that I met only today. That is, in addition to new knowledge, the project gave me new acquaintances. I am very happy with our common victory, we all prepared and were able to show ourselves as true experts of our hometown”, he shared.
