#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The annual competition of digitalization projects in the mining industry Mining Industry 4.0 was held in Moscow. The Nornickel company won in the Digitalization of Underground Mining category.
This year, the competition has received 55 applications from 18 Russian regions, as well as Belarus and Kazakhstan. An independent jury, consisting of 18 experts in the field of mining and digitalization of production processes, selected 14 winning projects in the main and special nominations.
The prize for the first place was given to the DSG 2.0 Decade-Shift Mining Planning System.
The digital Decade-Shift Mine Planning System DSG 2.0 has been used since 2019 at all underground mines of the Nornickel Polar Division by Mine Planning and Control Centers equipped with the latest technology. To date, there is no another digital planning system of the kind in the world. Many mining companies in the Russian market are showing interest in it.
Nornickel will continue to develop its own operational planning system for mining operations.
Earlier, Nornickel showed Moscow students the mining equipment of the future: exoskeletons, drones, robots and VR technologies.
