#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. The international championship among veterans in indoor athletics was held at the winter sports complex in Minsk. Participants from different parts of Belarus, as well as guests from Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries, competed for prizes.
The Norilsk central transport enterprise’s employee Roman Kivolya brought home a whole set of awards from the competition: he won two bronze medals in the 60 and 200 meter races, and received another bronze for the relay race, which he ran in a team with other participants in the competition. But the main trophy for the athlete was gold, which he received for successfully covering the 400-meter distance.
According to Roman, he has been involved in sports since childhood, but recently got engaged in it more enthusiastically.
“It all started with skiing, I studied it for a long time, then I was invited to take part in corporate athletics competitions. I performed and was drawn into it. At first I ran long distances, but for the last seven or eight years I switched to sprinting. I started preparing for the competition in Minsk six months in advance and, in order to always be in shape, regularly worked out in the Arctica sports palace’s gym”, said Roman Kivolya.
This was the second time the Norilsk resident attended the sports championship in Belarus, so Minsk is already familiar to him.
Roman is glad that playing sports not only brings him health and good spirits, but also helps him show good results at international competitions. Success in Belarusian competitions has inspired him, and he is ready to compete for victory in the upcoming corporate athletics competitions.
Earlier, we reported that in Norilsk the winners of the previous spartakiad were awarded and the next one was launched.
