#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. U-turn light steles appeared at the intersections of Moskovskaya-Talnahskaya and Kirov-Sovetskaya streets. Over time, three more similar decorative lighting will appear on the turnarounds of Talnahskaya street.
The purpose of the light steles is to add brightness and light to the city in autumn and during the polar night.
Light decorations for Norilsk intersections are made taking into account difficult climatic conditions, sudden temperature changes and strong wind loads. The eight-meter metal frame of the steles is made of profiled pipes. The light part is made of RGB neon with a constant power supply of 24 volts. Light and color control is carried out using a controller in which 11 operating modes are programmed, but their number can be increased.
“Similar steles, but with a slightly different design, are located in two more places in the city. We plan to install three more light steles on the turning circles of Talnahskaya street. The light structures are powered by outdoor lighting. They are turned on and off according to a schedule that takes into account the length of daylight hours”, explained Anatoly Bochkarev, acting chief power engineer of Norilskavtodor.
