#ARCTIC. #SIBERIA. THIS IS TAIMYR. Quite recently, the polar day has ended in Norilsk: the sun did not set for 68 days. On July 25, the white nights began, and the Norilsk people saw the day and night change for the first time in the summer.
White nights will last until August 15, and then there will be a period of twilight nights for another month.
On the mainland, the time of starfalls is now coming: one of the most powerful meteor showers – the Perseids – can be observed annually from July 17 to August 24. Their greatest activity falls on the period from 8 to 16 August, and the peak of starfall in 2021 is expected on the night of 12 to 13 August.
In Norilsk, the stars are still not visible, but August in the south of Taimyr is a time of spectacular and colorful sunsets that can be observed at late hours.
Earlier we wrote that in August in Norilsk comfortable weather is predicted.
